Which vehicles need a technical inspection every 6 months?

Public transport, driving school, rent-a-car, or special signals? Six-month inspections apply to you. Everyone else: know this so you don’t confuse it with annual registration.

Checklist (Montenegro RTSA, Art. 264)

  • Public passenger transport (including buses)
  • Dangerous goods transport
  • Driving-school vehicles
  • Special light/sound signals or escort / priority vehicles (Arts. 105 & 107)
  • Rent-a-car (without driver)

Due before 6 months from the permit; may be done 15 days early.

Not on this list: vehicle age alone (e.g. “15 years”). Ordinary cars follow the annual cycle; see fleet age in Montenegro.
